Systemische amyloïdose, met name ATTR-gerelateerd, combineert vaak cardiale en neurologische manifestaties. Hoewel de hartbetrokkenheid de prognose bepaalt, verergeren neurologische symptomen de levenskwaliteit en functionele status aanzienlijk. Vroege herkenning van beide organbetrokkenheden is essentieel voor tijdige start van disease-modifying therapie. Dit overzicht benadrukt het belang van een multidisciplinaire benadering bij de diagnostiek en follow-up van patiënten met ATTR-amyloïdose.

## English: Amyloidosis: Cardiac and Neurologic Involvement.

Systemic amyloidosis, particularly ATTR-related, frequently involves both the heart and the nervous system. While cardiac involvement is the primary driver of prognosis, concurrent neurologic manifestations significantly impair quality of life and functional status. Early recognition of both domains is crucial for timely initiation of disease-modifying therapies. This review highlights the need for a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and management in ATTR amyloidosis.

The interplay between cardiac and neurologic involvement in systemic amyloidosis is critical to understanding the full clinical burden of the disease. While cardiac involvement remains the most powerful determinant of prognosis, concomitant neurologic manifestations substantially impair patients' quality of life and functional status. The coexistence of these 2 phenotypes is particularly prevalent in ATTR-related amyloidosis, where both peripheral and central nervous system involvement may accompany, and at times precede, cardiac disease. Early recognition of both domains of involvement is essential to timely initiation of disease-modifying.
